親愛的JOBSON,

願你一切平安。

無論你現在是多麼厭惡我，都懇請你在丟棄這封信前，至少聽我跟你說兩件事，不要拒絕我。

今天，我想跟你說生日快樂；同時，也請你聽我道來，關於你欣賞的布考斯基和你我之間的故事……

我想，再也沒有機會親口說，

那麼就在你生日這一天，讓你知道，

這故事之巧合，是多麼精準獨特而唯一。

將查理‧布考斯基推薦、介紹到華文世界，

同時翻譯他四本書的譯者，

正是我的一位好朋友（也是多年好友的丈夫，他待我就像兄妹一般）。

上次寄那四本中文繁體版的照片，

就是從他住處拿來的，四冊他親筆的校訂本。

我說書是絕無僅有，本事是你所賜，即是這意思。

除了這四本，他還拿出收藏的布考斯基原版著作，當時我拍下，想日後寄給你看。現在也附上。

說要買布考斯基的你，一定料想不到，

布考斯基和你我是這樣的關係。

這段插曲，如果早些告訴你，

應該會令你又吃驚又開心的。

我原本有機會知道──當巧合再次精準地發生在你我身上時，你會有什麼反應的。(跟我一樣，嘖嘖稱奇？)

而我卻欲言又止，只在信裡打謎語暗示，

我一心只想親口說給你聽……

在我們之間原本可以津津樂道的故事……

去年我曾想過，我們沒共同的朋友，

如果我們一直只是這樣通信，

萬一我發生什麼意外（我曾經生過病，是從鬼門關走回來的人），我希望有人去信通知不知情的你──因為我把你當成我真正的朋友，而你不像我其他朋友可以知道為何音訊全無。

我心想最適合傳達的人，非他們這對夫妻莫屬。

因為他們了解我，而且是很特別的人，

我還想把你介紹給他們。

（然而，誰知道你有沒有當我是一個真正的朋友，現在想來覺得可笑。）

到今天，我還沒跟他們提過你。雖然，我拿書時曾想讓他知道，嘿，除了他，布考斯基又多了你這位知音。(我看到好幾本保羅‧奧斯特的中英文書，就是在他們家書架上…。)

如今，回顧這一切，只讓我感慨萬分。世事永遠難料。

一如誰也沒料到，我們四月再度開啟通信往來，

是以你談村上春樹，而我聊起魯西迪等話題開始。

最後，卻也詭異地在這幾個關鍵詞中結束了我們的通信。

前天我重看四、五月份你的來信後，

才終於恍然大悟，

原來，無論如何，終究留不住一切親愛的……

上週你播出「暴風雨組曲」，

我依習慣找出聆樂筆記，對照著聽，

上次播是今年第五個禮拜，

也發現自己在今年一月底寫下了：

…不可求，不可問，不可說。一說即破，破局、破壞，難以彌補的破鏡，永無法重圓無痕。

我竟還寫了「逝水已逝，勿戀勿哀」！

不只如此，

除了還重複寫著Final Touch/Hidden Agenda的歌詞：

say something and close the door, and break the silence our rule…

連那首出現男女高聲爭吵，我一直不喜歡的曲子，

讓我在當時就寫下：

「Wait! …It’s over… No, it’s not! …然而，最後，仍然回到這個爭吵的結尾…」

Jobson, 這才真是見鬼了！這次，讓我學布考斯基說Merde!

為什麼，我是這麼不可原諒！

到頭來，無論我自以為多麼了解死亡和別離的滋味，自以為珍惜一切，一旦面對，永遠是措手不及……！

你我都不知道，故事的伏筆，已經冥冥之中寫在那裡了。

彼時彼境跟此情此景契合，絲毫不差地到來。

竟完美得如此詭異，太多太多諸如此類。

究竟是誰導的戲呢？

這樣無辜的兩個人，每一步都對應得這麼精準契合，總是事後了然。總是驚嘆。我們是太沒默契，還是默契絕佳。

這麼經典的故事不說給你聽，該說給誰聽？

Jobson，這一切，真的只對我一個人有意義嗎？

有什麼意義……

好像又回到那樣的問句……

我像在唱獨角戲，

是和你及絲絨組曲渾然不知的合聲回聲，

也許更像是我被The Wise Lady玩弄於一場夢。

我再寫得文謅謅的，你大概就不舒服了，

難怪你一再誤認我是國文老師（你不知道，在我聽來，這裡面含有貶意）。

當我昨天回頭重看我們一年多的書信，

才明白，從一開始我就在意稱謂，真是幼稚。

更可笑的是，我全盤輸了。我原以為我們可以雙贏的。

我是這麼熱愛、感謝你的絲絨組曲……

這麼渴望拜讀你魔術球般的信，聊搖滾音樂寫人生，

一直等待你早日以你獨特的文采驚醒世人啊！

我們會在某處相遇。

在地下絲絨，百聽不厭的絲絨組曲裡？

你想忘掉，想遠離地下絲絨。

地下絲絨畢竟是你生命裡一段特別的回憶，

是的，該讓它安息。以他該有的形式。

前方漫漫，而我依然關心，你與誠品的官司。

我想你明白，我始終嫉惡如仇，不屑偽善的誠品，甚至覺得自己在做法上很有骨氣（並不是為了你）。

祝福你和絲絨，公理正義早日獲得伸張！

你應該發現了，gmail的即時通訊，我已不敢登入了，

本來就幾乎不使用即時通訊的，

打開它，只為了能看到你平安的訊息就放心。

可是，當我望著那綠色的燈，

知道你在寫信讀信，在與人交談，

卻不再有意願寄給我任何message，甚至躲避我，

那只會讓我更傷心，更難堪。

既然我已被別人取代了，

關上它，那麼你也能徹底地把我忘了。

只是萬萬沒想到，跟你的重啟的malalikap，

竟然維持不到半年，

在你的生日前就這麼戛然而止。

這很符合如你自稱具有毀滅傾向的性格，

也與我的作風如出一轍。

為何就這麼狠？

判死刑，連想上訴，被駁回的理由、機會都不給我。

如果你真的這麼厭惡我，拒絕我這個朋友，

那麼我會識相地離開你，遠遠的。

如果我的信不再受你歡迎，

那麼，從此我不會再寫信打擾你了。

除了這封，想再次誠懇地向你道歉，

希望你原諒我的一切，我的無禮、自以為是和讓人招架不住的誠實坦白。

攝影家Martin Klimas將樂曲演奏時具體的形狀以實驗性的手法呈現出來。

他挑了幾首曲子，從搖滾、爵士到古典樂都有，

The Velvet Underground的Run Run Run就是其中之一。

好吧，終究還是得結束這封信，

既然你向布考斯基看齊，我也迷上布考斯基了，

他寫過32本詩集，五本短篇小說，四本長篇小說，

影響世人和美國搖滾樂最深的又是詩作，

而且布考斯基本人又自我定義就是詩人，

♫ Subway (by Peter Murphy, from “Cascade”, released in1995)

Peter John Joseph Murphy (born 11 July 1957) is an English singer, songwriter, and musician. Peter Murphy was the vocalist of the goth rock band Bauhaus and later went on to release a number of solo albums. Thin with prominent cheekbones, a baritone voice, and a penchant for gloomy poetics, he is often called the “Godfather of Goth“. Subway is from “Cascade”, released in 1995.

Counting days like a missing chaine of love—from 25 March 2012 to 25 March 2020

Subway was selected by Jobson as the 5^th track in “The Suite of Storm—Commemorative T-Shirt”（《暴風雨組曲》, title named by Sumika in 2012. This suite was counted by her as the 8th VU Suite of Jobson’s works. The cover art for this VU Suite was designed by Sumika, too.

“The Suite of Storm—Commemorative T-Shirt” was broadcasted twice in 2013. Just like other 10 VU Suites in that year.

In 2018, “The Suite of Storm—Commemorative T-Shirt” was retouched and renamed a newer version by Jobson himself as “The Last City II”.

Artistically, the 7^th VU Suite “The Suite of Justice—Endormir Les Hommes” (which was also retouched and renamed in 2018 by Jobson “The Last City I”) and “The Suite of Storm—Commemorative T-Shirt” (“The Last City II”) are duo, as a pair of pessimist musical works, whether Jobson created them consciously in the concept of destruction and ruin or not, yet they are really refined pieces, in a dim and gloomy post-rock musical style.

No matter how the title or the tracks of VU Suite changes and changes, playing Blues or Prog or Bossa, in winter or in summer, with tender male or lovely female voice, pure soul of musicians with dim string in the suites are all unforgettable to Sumika who cherish all Jobson’s works, being the only woman eternal searching for the soul of every VU Suite created by Jobson Hiiao.

VU Suites created by Jobson Hiiao are intertwined with Sumika’s life and Jobson’s life. In many musical VU Suites lies the emotions love story of Sumika and Jobson… The letters between Jobson and Sumika and her diary since 2012 shows the truth of the Velvet Underground Taipei Story…

Since 20 Oct. to 26 Oct. 2013, another VU Suite “La suite du soundscape noir—In Search of Peter Pan” was broadcasted in The Velvet Underground Taipei VU Live House official website. Meanwhile, Sumika didn’t received any letter from Jobson. Considering the relation with Jobson quite a long time, finally, Sumika wrote the 315^th letter to celebrate the birthday of the former owner of The VU LiveHouse, Jobson, with a Sonic sculpture entitled “Velvet Underground & Nico Run Run Run” as a birthday gift (for the second time). At the end of this letter, Sumika decided to say goodbye and leave Jobson, her Master and beloved…(one year )

A year ago, on 21 Oct. 2012, the same day, Sumika sent a singular and rare birthday present to Jobson (for the first time), a poem dedicated to dear Jobson “Like the deep echo of silence owe to the fall —Dedicated to dear Jobson”, written long before his birthday with joy and love and happiness.

Sumika wrote this poem original in Chinese and later in English version. The whole poem in Chinese〈將靜默贈予聆聽之前—獻給親愛的Jobson〉is:

Sumika wrote several poems for Jobson and for his VU Suites. But there is a special poem created during the broadcasting of “La suite du soundscape noir—In Search of Peter Pan” in November 2012. inspired by this beautiful suite was co-written by Sumika and Jobson and become their unique poem.

Thus, the naming of this VU Suite and the “malalikap” between Jobson and Sumika on their collaboration in writing the poem let this dark and classical rock VU Suite remain a special one for Sumika.

“La suite du soundscape noir—In Search of Peter Pan” becomes the 18th VU Suite of Jobson’s musical works counted and noted by Sumika. It’s equal to “Dark Classical Gothic Rock Suite”(《黑暗古典歌德搖滾組曲》）, title renamed in 2017 by Jobson while it was broadcasted during Feb. 11-18, 2017.

Sumika used Chinese artist Liang Jing’s work Black Void with again her favorite VU Restaurant photo in the center, as the art work for “La suite du soundscape noir—In Search of Peter Pan”. There is an intention that Sumika want to give an homage to Jobson’s Velvet Underground Taipei VU Live House. A further message is to insister the justice in this life now not afterlife

The second birthday gift that Sumika prepared for Jobson is exceptional as the first one.

“Velvet Underground & Nico Run Run Run”

“Velvet Underground & Nico Run Run Run” is a work by the artist Martin Klimas.

Later, Sumika used this sonic sculpture image and the stage picture of The VU Live House to design the cover art (see below the image) for the 48^th VU Suite of Jobson’s Works: “春浪流金組曲The Suite of Spring Wave of Love”, which the beginning track and the ending track of this suite are “The Setting Sun” and “Cross The Line”, both from Place Vendome’s self-titled debut album.

“The Suite of Spring Wave of Love” belongs to a series of Glam Metal Rock ballads created by Jobson. It was named and classed by Sumika after the debut broadcast in spring 2014, in The Velvet Underground Taipei VU Live House official website. Yet, several years later, as many other works, it was retouched and renamed by Jobson himself: “80’s Glam Metal Rock Suite III”, (Please refer to “Naming of VU Suites (No 48-52)”)

數算日子，猶如思念之鍊（戀）—從2012年3月25日到2020年3月25日

這裡貼文的日期，2020年3月25日，正是Sumika寫信給Jobson的第一封信的第八年。3月25日屬於Sumika生命中特別的日子，也是本網站【絲絨之問SThe Velvet Underground Taipei Story of Jobson & Sumika】誕生的最初源頭。而上述Sumika在2013年10月21日至22日凌晨寫給Jobson的第315封信，也正是在特別的日子所寄出意義非比尋常的信，那是Jobson的生日…。

根據信件內容，這裡介紹曲子分別屬於信件當時前後兩週的絲絨組曲：一首是信件裡引用歌詞的Subway, 由Peter Murphy 演唱。彼得墨菲是英國後龐克/歌德搖滾樂隊Bauhaus包浩斯樂團成員。樂團解散後，往個人演唱事業發展。這首曲子被Jobson選入Jobson的第八支絲絨組曲《暴風雨組曲—Commemorative T-Shirt》（幾年後被Jobson改版重新命名為“The Last City II”。）

另一首介紹的是2013年10月20日起在VU LiveHouse地下絲絨搖滾餐廳播放的，Jobson的第18支組曲《幽黯之黑組曲— In Search of Peter Pan》中的輕柔女聲歌曲Jacula Valzer。這首出自義大利前衛搖滾樂團Jacula在1972年發行的第二張專輯Tardo Pede In Magiam Versus（英譯With slow feet on facing）。

Sumika 在2012年播放此組曲時，將它命名為︰《幽黯之黑組曲—In Search of Peter Pan》（La suite du soundscape noir—In Search of Peter Pan）。與播放同時期，Sumika寫下聆賞組曲與生活感懷交織而自動書寫的中、法文的互文（而非互譯）現代詩給Jobson。未多加推敲就寄出不成熟的詩，反映Sumik心靈內面與絲絨組曲的憂鬱暗黑是同頻率、同色調。Jobson因為想聽黑暗的音樂了，於是跳過其他幾支想再修改的絲絨組曲，選播了這支組曲。

當時Sumika的命名和對組曲聆賞的觀感描述，幾年後，2017年於2月11日當週播放時，Jobson重新命名《黑暗古典歌德搖滾組曲》，實為同一支組曲。Jobson的命名正印證Sumika在最初尚不明瞭此類搖滾音樂類型情況下，已勾勒出符合組曲精神的《幽黯之黑組曲—In Search of Peter Pan》主題。Jobson與Sumika師徒兩人唯一聯手共寫的同名詩，同時成為與絲絨組曲共鳴的聲音…。這首詩標題也因Jobson修潤而改成《以幽黯的黑現身不再噤聲》。

也是直到2017年，Sumika才終於得知深愛的絲絨組曲第一首曲子是黑暗金屬搖滾曲“Tortured by Solitude”〈受孤獨折磨〉——是這首初響不凡的旋律與Kate Bush的〈尋找潘彼得〉（“In search of Peter Pan”）等幾首選曲賦予Sumika詩作靈思。

但更是絲絨主人Jobson與最愛絲絨組曲的Sumika兩人在持續的瑪拉利卡 malalikap——書信交流和知音的心靈共鳴，成為激盪彼此文字書寫、絲絨組曲編製靈感的寶貴創作泉源（請參照Jobson在【絲絨漫談】所寫）。

Martin Klimas Sonic Sculpture 聲音雕塑—以色彩表現聲音

關於馬丁克里瑪斯的聲音雕塑（Sonic Sculpture），他在2011年創作的一系列實驗影音成像的立體作品中的音樂都是精挑細選的代表作，除這裡介紹的地下絲絨與妮可（Velvet Underground & Nico）的Run Run Run，搖滾樂還有黛安娜蘿絲（Diana Rose）的Upside Down和英國搖滾樂名人大衛鮑伊（David Bowie）的Ziggy Stardust, 性手槍樂團（Sex Pistols）的Anarchy，爵士薩克斯風大師約翰柯川（John Coltrane）被樂評認為是最具挑戰前衛爵士極限的經典作品《昇華》（Ascention）等人作品，古典音樂家的樂曲則有貝多芬（Bethoven）的第5號交響曲、華格納（R. Wagnar）的《女武神的騎行》（《Ride of the Valkyries》）與卡爾奧夫（Carl Orff）的經典作品《布蘭詩歌》（Carmina Burana）…。
