師父還沒挑錯,我先來更正錯誤 

前一本約翰伯格的書名應該是另一種影像敘事 

而我的生日還沒到呢XD

 

組曲裡的是Twin Peaks 的另一首 Into The Night.

記憶不可靠,我記錯曲名,以為這首是主題曲(當然我也喜歡Falling)。那個專輯也不知到哪去了

 

敲打鍵盤輸入的動作,是機械性的反射動作,

如你說的,手寫就不會寫錯了    幾乎

而我手寫明明是into ,卻會敲成兩個字,八成頭昏了。

 The Beautiful Requiem for VU Live House Taipei 

Pearl Harper was originally from the film “The Night of The Hunter”, featured by the band ARCA in their album “Cinématique”, released in 2001. The Terminal Show, created by Akira Yamaoka, was the official soundtrack of the game “Silent Hill- Homecoming”.  

These two songs were selected by Jobson as the 2nd & 3rd tracks successive in the 41st VU Suite of Jobson’s works, named by Jobson himself on the website when the debut broadcasting started: 

“It has been 3 years when The VU Live House Taipei was falling into the dark by force till today. One day, the truth will be revealed in the sun. Rest in peace, Velvet. A beautiful and refined Requiem is sending to you so far away from me…missing you jobson.”

That’s the reason why Sumika called it “Requiem For VU Live House Taipei(《絲絨安魂曲Requiem For VU Live House Taipei》)since the first broadcasting on September 29, 2013. The original version has a length of 132 min.

Later, Sumika renamed it : “Requiem as a light in the dark(《絲絨安魂曲Requiem as a light in the dark. The cover art for this VU Suite was designed by Sumika. The picture of the front page of the website VU Live House Taipei was taken by Sumika at the same week on 2013.

On Feb. 26 2017, the version of this VU Suite was the same as the version of 2013, length of 132 min. Jobson didn’t renamed it. However, on April 2018, this《絲絨安魂曲Requiem as a light in the darkwas retouched and renamed as a strange title: “Lovers in a Red Sky”, the naming of the title was yield to Marc Chagall’s picture. The renaming and the excessive retouch and modification of this VU Suite “Requiem as a light in the dark” is regrettable. A truth was erased by Jobson himself. 41 VU Suite 絲絨安魂曲 - Requiem as a light in the dark Lovers in a Red Sky (1)

In fact, the original VU Suite 《絲絨安魂曲Requiem as a light in the dark, its name and contents were substituted by the suite of “Lovers in a Red Sky”.

By renaming it as “Lovers in a Red Sky”, Jobson has achieved a shift in silent and the original VU Suite 《絲絨安魂曲Requiem as a light in the darkhas successfully replaced by the “new lover”… What a typical “metaphor of change" by a prodigal son like him. There are many examples like this in the VU Suites, which are usually meaningful.

In 2013, when Jobson composed this VU Suite so beautiful and refined, the original intention is dedicating a special works “Requiem” to dear VU Live House Taipei, which was already closed by The Eslite Corporation for three years waiting fort the result of lawsuit. Yet the VU Live House Taipei was not only one of the Live House for the young musicians and indie bands to perform in Taiwan, not only the restaurant and bar-club founded by Jobson in Taipei city, but also was a symbol of Jobson’s dream since very young…A story of “dream come true” for the amateur of rock & roll music.

Admirer of Jobson’s talent and confidant who adore all VU Suites created by Jobson, Sumika knows very well the feelings and the reasons why Jobson dedicated with such special gift to a beloved one. Sumika appreciate the composition of this Requiem since the debut listening on September 29 2013.

After the excessive retouch of this works by Jobson himself, Sumika was disappointed by the new version and the renaming. In the “Lovers in a red sky”, the original spirit of creation has lost. A “reset” so easy and a “erase memories” so cool in a world of digital speed and an era of deep-fake. Yet for a person with an “old soul”, it’s so sad to see (and to listen to the new version) such regrettable modification of an excellent musical works of art originally dedicated for a dead beloved.

In a world of common sense, a change, particularly a necessary transform is always meaningful, whether obviously or cleverly hidden, maybe by the purpose of erasing the most unbearable memories or the traces of the past avoiding to be recognized another face…

美麗別緻的安魂曲—遙祭絲絨

在距今六年前2013929日至1015連續兩週,台北地下絲絨搖滾餐廳 VU Live House網站特別播放同一支絲絨組曲,是首播的2013年新編組曲。Sumika初次聆聽後隨即取名為︰《絲絨安魂曲》。這個名稱,其實是來自絲絨主人Jobson本人。上述Sumika的第305封信即是同一時期發出的信件 

特別的是2013年連兩週播放後2014年沒有播放直到2015年三月初(第12週),才又播放《絲絨安魂曲》 

2013 929日首次播放《絲絨安魂曲》時,為了自己所創卻已被迫關店的絲絨Jobson寫在台北地下絲絨VU Live House網站的跑馬燈,最初顯示的文字內容是: 

2 就是絲絨墜入黑暗滿3週年的日子,真相終將會攤在陽光下的,安息吧,絲絨,一組美麗別緻的安魂曲遙寄給你…….想念你的 jobson

因此,當時Sumika遂將組曲命名為《絲絨安魂曲Requiem For VU Live House Taipei》,2014Sumika修改為《絲絨安魂曲Requiem as a light in the dark後來Sumika設計這支絲絨安魂曲的組曲封面cover art時,即是以當時拍下的網站首頁為意象。 

《絲絨安魂曲Requiem as a light in the dark》直到2017226日播放時仍然是132分鐘的長度Jobson並未為組曲重新命名。20184月播放的是重新增刪曲目的新版本Jobson重新命名為《Lovers in a Red Sky以夏卡爾的繪畫與標題為封面和組曲標題,組曲名稱遷就了圖像,曲目內涵都絲絨安魂曲的初版已遠…,已不復《絲絨安魂曲Requiem as a light in the dark最完整可貴的初衷。重要的是,組曲大師Jobson後來在網站寫說他未曾為這組曲取名 

Sumika信裡提到大衛林區David Lynch的影片“Twin Peaks”(《雙峰》)的“Into The Night”,被Jobson選入《絲絨安魂曲》的第4。這首歌將在下一篇Sumika的日記(〈象牙門之夢62 今天是絲絨墜入黑暗第3個年頭的日子 1/10/2013)文末介紹。 

這裡介紹《絲絨安魂曲》第2首和第3首:Pearl Harper,原是黑白片電影The Night of The Hunter(《獵人之夜)一段,被Sumika喜愛的樂團ARCA收錄在2001年發行的Cinématique(《電影》專輯 第三首The Terminal Show” (最後的表演)作曲者為日本人山崗晃(Akira Yamaoka),出自《沉默之丘—歸鄉》 “Silent Hill- Homecoming” 驚悚電子遊戲的音樂。 

Pearl Harper 其實是電影(《獵人之夜)裡小女孩的名字,這首歌出自兄妹兩人半夜小舟躲避追殺逃走時的驚悚畫面。這部黑白電影攝影手法以德國表現主義風格呈現,在影史上獲評價藝術性極高,影響很多電影人,包括大衛林區。 

另一首The Terminal Show” (最後的表演)的故事,男主角入精神病院,過程中發覺許多事物環環相扣,秘密一層層揭開,終於記起了自己一直不願記住、不堪回首的過往記憶…。 而在這紀念絲絨舞台的安魂曲Jobson挑選這首名稱相呼應的音樂是蘊含深意的…

《絲絨安魂曲》大量採用類似這些來自電影的配樂,營造出很有畫面感、旋律如故事劇情起伏,充滿想像的影像組曲。組曲的第一首Celestial Ghost由瑞典音樂家Nicklas Barker創作,是為電影配樂(“El Último Fin de Semana.)見〈絲絨組曲名稱Sumika & Jobson命名對照之41-47支絲絨組曲〉中介紹過Nicklas Barker的另一首也被Jobson選在《絲絨安魂曲》裡。 

其他絲絨組曲選曲,與電影關係密切的有:《正義組曲—Endormir les hommes》所選ARCA樂團的Endormir les hommes、《Encore Little Boy—Confession Suite》裡精選Lebowski樂團的Encore等,都具有強烈電影概念的創作風格。更不用說Henry Mancini Whistling Away The DarkPiero Umiliani Nostalgia這些成為Jobson的歐洲電影香頌懷舊組曲系列(Jobson命名為《歐洲電影香頌懷舊組曲 I II III “A Taste of Themes In Nostalgic Films” I II III》)的精選曲。

絲絨史詩三部曲: 《托住眾生的靈魂組曲》《如在天堂組曲—Close to the fire, close to the edge》《絲絨安魂曲》

《絲絨安魂曲》(2015年改版前的完整版本)2013年版本的《如在天堂組曲—Close to the fire, close to the edge》,及早期版本的《托住眾生的靈魂組曲》,這三支絲絨組曲,在絲絨組曲當中,論藝術,整體表現精緻脫俗,論精神內涵,觀照人文,同時展現其他組曲較少見的恢宏大器。 

Sumika心目中,想要認識Jobson選曲佈排的音樂才華,這三支組曲絕對是上上之選。2013年版本的《如在天堂組曲—Close to the fire, close to the edge》,早期版本的《托住眾生的靈魂組曲》及《絲絨安魂曲》早期版本可說是大開大闔的「絲絨史詩三部曲」,也是Jobson創作超過七十支絲絨組曲中的代表作。

可以說Jobson決定將《絲絨安魂曲》改版、重新命名為《Lovers In A Red Sky,為它戴上新面具,並寫下那些有幾分真實的文詞時,這支組曲已經離最初他精心編曲來紀念絲絨的初衷很遙遠了! 

如今,最初而真正完整的《絲絨安魂曲》,組曲名稱只在【絲絨之問The Velvet Underground Taipei Story】裡存在。 

這世上,大概只剩下Sumika設立的這個最特別版本的台北地下絲絨網站,會秉持2013年當年Jobson紀念絲絨的同樣初衷,繼續懷念台北地下絲絨、紀念絲絨,持續這正義的天問:絲絨之問…。 

Sumika在2017年寫下的〈不負絲絨不負君〉長詩裡,已充分表達了深沉的遺憾Jobson這些年在絲絨組曲的微調和大幅改變遠離初衷者不少,但真正在乎的有幾人呢?Jobson自己真的在乎嗎?藝術的精神是什麼? 

人的改變,每一個變化的痕跡都是有意義的,無論改變是顯而易見或者巧妙不為人所知…。而人是離不開人性的。人之所以選擇遺忘—不願記住和不願被記住,佛洛依德的心理學有知名的闡述,在此不贅言。 

倒是The Terminal Show的主人翁,不願記住過往,可與2018Jobson撰寫關於Into The Night這首歌時,給出〈一場永不醒來的黑夜黯夢〉的標題,是饒富趣味的呼應。歌曲之間有共鳴,編曲者歷年心境變化的無意識流露也是,當組曲戴上全新面具之後,重新包裝舊瓶新裝的組曲獻給新戀人的把戲…,漫談的文章還來個此地無銀的辯解,字字句句,都在互相投射,與此網站呈現更早期真實的絲絨組曲本來面目,脈絡變遷,聽眾讀者可以自行對照其中的虛虛實實。 

「唯真不破」的道理,在絲絨組曲和台北地下絲絨的故事也適用。假的真不了,Sumika痛恨說謊的人,尤其說謊成性的人。這也是為何Sumika設立【絲絨之問The Velvet Underground Taipei Story】這個台北地下絲絨故事的最特別版本La version la plus rare de notre VU Live House Taipei…
